As you may alread know, I love vintage items. I have quite the key collection. I have used them in found object jewelry, collage work, even attaching them to a canvas with sewing thread. I decided to hang them up for a little photo op. They made such lovely shadows on the work table.
After desaturating the image it grew from there. I had no intention to add a photo to the image, but it called out to me. I had a small stack of photos of my father to scan in and they were laying right there, so it seemed to fit the idea in my head.
I think I might play with the keys a bit more before I cut them down. They are attractive in a small pile, also. And they look good laid out on a creamy canvas all lined up neat and orderly. We'll see where else this takes me, if anywhere. They do make a strange and wonderful music of their own.
No daily outdoor walk -- the rains have begun. It is soothing to work and hear the rain. Everyone is hoping it continues so it won't be a drought year, but the rains have come so terribly late.
Wherever you are, I hope you are tucked inside nice and warm and cozy and you can view the rain or snow or winds from behind your windows.
Have a wonderful weekend.
