Karen Burns, a mixed-media artist uses original photography in her work. She lives in Northern California halfway between the mountains of Tahoe and the city of San Francisco. She has always been involved in the art world evolving in different mediums to where she is today.
She works with her original photographs, processing them in PhotoShop and/or Corel Paint. Additional color, light and texture is added to enhance the image. Artworks are printed in her studio on Epson Exhibition Canvas with Ultra Chrome Pigment Inks. Acrylic Sealant and UV Protection are applied. Where appropriate, acrylic paints and mediums are added to the surface to highlight areas and add more depth. While this technique is not appropriate for all of her printed works, it is the new direction she is expanding in.
Giclee prints on Epson Exhibition Canvas with Ultra Chrome Pigment Inks, gallery wrapped with UV protection.
